Farm Story

Foxwood Farm is a family owned farm, purchased by Phillip and Kelly Snider in June 2017. For a decade prior to this, the farm had set idle and was gradually falling into disrepair. The Sniders decided to expand their 80 acre home farm in Elk Creek and so the renovation of Foxwood began. Their vision was to create a tranquil retreat for friends, family and guests. Over the course of a year, every aspect of Foxwood was thoughtfully rebuilt, restored or renewed. Miles of fence was installed and a beautiful new barn was constructed to accommodate all the livestock that joined the farm. The primary focus at Foxwood is the 900 head Dorper sheep herd, but there are also Boer goats, and a small herd of cattle being bred for US Wagyu Beef. None of the livestock raised for meat at Foxwood is given hormones or antibiotics and to show dedication to sustainability, in 2018 Foxwood became a Certified Animal Welfare Farm. In addition to meats, the farm produces a variety of herbs, flowers and produce.

The 1904 farm house has been lovingly and painstakingly renovated and offers accommodations for up to 10 guests. The mile long stretch of Elk Creek running through the mountain farm has been opened for private fishing, and is stocked weekly with trophy rainbow trout. The open spaces and beautiful rivers offer an ideal setting for weddings, retreats, or most any outdoor event.
